In truth, there are no rules.
With that said, there are a lot of suggestions and a lot of expectations to fulfill in the Judge’s seat. Everything from managing player expectations to writing a good campaign. There’s no wrong or right way and none of these rules should be followed 100% of the time, but many are good wisdom that will allow you to run Red Suit at least as it was intended.
Rule Zero - Your goal is for everyone to have fun.
You can’t control what everyone feels but if this game is stressing people out, or if people are having fun only at the expense of others, stop playing. This is ultimately true for any game but when we insert ourselves into a role playing game, we can lose ourselves. Always take a step back and acknowledge that if you can’t deliver a positive experience for everyone, it’s time to re-evaluate.
